Traffic is collected
People actively shopping for a product or service land on the publisher’s website. These visitors are automatically tagged for retargeting based on their shared buying intent.

Audiences are built
The publisher segments these tagged visitors into channel-specific audiences, ready to be retargeted on ad space across major social platforms and key websites in our network.

Listing is created on Okushon
The publisher creates a listing for each channel-specific audience on Okushon for auctioning. All aspects of the listing are customisable: starting price, auction duration, who can participate, and retargeting rules.

Auction is run on Okushon
The publisher runs their auction on Okushon. Advertisers then bid for the rights to retarget the audience on offer. The highest bidder wins.

Winner pays & receives access
The winning advertiser receives access to that audience for a pre-set period. The auction, payment exchange, and ad creative upload are all handled within Okushon.

Ad campaign is launched
The advertiser runs ads until their access period (campaign duration) expires, then the audience goes back up for grabs, and the publisher can run a new auction.

How is Okushon different from programmatic?
Programmatic buys reach broad, unknown audiences. Okushon gives you direct access to pre-qualified, in-market buyers — segmented by what they’re actively shopping for. It’s not spray and pray. It’s surgical.
Is this retargeting or prospecting?
Retargeting. But not your own traffic. You’re retargeting high-intent visitors from premium publisher sites, grouped by what they’re looking to buy.
Can I use my own ad creatives?
Yes. Video, static, or carousel, depending on the channel. Okushon even allows you to upload and share your ad creative directly through the platform.
What kind of ad space can I buy access to?
Ad space across major social platforms (Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, Reddit and more), plus selected web placements within our Okushon Publisher Network. You can see the complete list here.
How do I know these audiences are high intent?
They’ve already visited pages tied to specific products or services, like car loans, insurance, or solar, and been tagged in real time. These aren’t casual browsers. They’re in the buying cycle.
Do I get exclusive access to the audience I win?
Yes. For the platform and time period defined in the auction. You own that retargeting window.
What happens after my audience access period ends?
Your ads stop running, and the audience can be re-listed by the publisher. You can bid again, if you choose. There’s no limit on how many back-to-back auctions you are allowed to win.
Can I automate bidding or listing?
Yes, you can setup automated bidding with alert triggers to keep you informed.
Can I target multiple audiences at once?
Yes. There are no limits. You can bid on and run campaigns across multiple audience segments and platforms simultaneously.
Can I see performance data before placing a bid?
Each auction includes key audience insights such as category, size, platform, and recent engagement signals. Performance data from past campaigns isn’t shared to ensure fairness and protect publisher earnings.
Is there a way to test different ad creative?
Yes. You can upload multiple creatives for the same campaign and split test them across the audience. Performance data will show which version delivers the best results.
How do I find auctions suitable for my brand?
You will be automatically matched with suitable auctions based on your business categories. From here, you can filter for audiences aligned with your offer, or set alerts so you’re notified when matching auctions go live.
Publishers
Can I list the same audience more than once?
Yes. You can resell the same audience across different channels or time windows, maximising yield without compromising performance.
Do I choose which platforms my audience is sold on?
Yes. You decide which platforms each audience is made available for, based on what fits your traffic and what you believe advertisers would find most appealing.
Can I control which advertisers can bid for my audience?
Yes. You can choose whether your auctions are publicly available or exclusively invite only.
How are payments handled?
Payments can be handled directly through Okushon, or invoiced outside of the platform. The choice is u to the Publisher. However we recommend paying through Okushon for speed and security.
How long does it take to get started?
Most advertisers and publishers can be live in under a day. Create an account, plug in your platform(s), and you’re good to go. If you need support, we’re here to help.
Can I get support to set up or run my account?
Absolutely. We offer two optional add-on services:
- White Glove: A guided onboarding service to help you or your team get set up fast, with expert coaching at every step.
- Done-for-You: We handle everything end-to-end, from listing to optimisation. You sit back, we take a commission on auction revenue.
Can I offer a single advertiser a direct deal?
Yes. You can choose if you ad space is available to one advertiser, a private group, or open to all users on the platform.
How do I find advertisers for my auctions?
You don’t need to. Once your audience is listed on Okushon, it’s automatically visible to all advertisers matching the category you’ve chosen. The more valuable your audience (size, intent, platform), the more advertisers it will attract.
